 WELCOME TO OUR WEBSITE. We introduced this new website in September of 2009, and we work every day to refine and improve content and usability. As we Practice with Purpose, we will continue searching for ways to contribute value to our clients and our friends.
Through the challenges of 2009 and early 2010, I am pleased that we continue to grow. Last Fall, we welcomed Ryan Bardo as a new Associate in our Litigation Group. Ryan is a graduate of West Point Military Academy and the University of Houston Law School. His wife Sara is a principal dancer in the Houston Ballet, and we are thrilled that they have joined our team. In May, we will welcome Kaylan Dunn and Carey Hain as Summer Associates. Our Summer Associate program continues to be our primary recruiting platform, and we look forward to an outstanding summer term with Kaylan and Carey.
On April 1st, we hosted another in our BoyarMiller Breakfast Forum series, The Continuing Crisis in Healthcare and its Impact on Texas Business. Our panel included John Boettiger, Principal of Deloitte, Jim Springfield, President and CEO of JGS Advisory Services, Mike Sicuro, Executive Vice President and CFO of US Oncology, and Richard Rawson, President of Administaff. We thank each of them for participating and providing insightful contribution to the program. We look forward to hosting our next program, the State of the Capital Markets, in the fall.
And, finally, I am proud to announce that on March 15, 2010, BoyarMiller was presented the "Best of Legal Services" award by the American Marketing Association - Houston in the 2009 Marketer of the Year competition. The firm was one of four finalists in the Legal Services category. This award recognizes the great work that our marketing team, led by our Executive Director, Doug Parker, and our marketing partner, Brand Extract, did in executing our new branding initiatives last Fall.
