boyarmiller announces 2012 attorney promotions

HOUSTON, Texas (January 4, 2012) — BoyarMiller announced today that Brad Scarborough has been promoted to Shareholder in the firm's Business Group while Craig Dillard has been promoted to Shareholder and Edgar Saldivar has been promoted to Senior Associate in the firm's Litigation Group.

Brad Scarborough offers comprehensive counsel on complex commercial real estate transactions involving the acquisition, development, leasing, management and disposition of both undeveloped and income producing properties. A significant part of his real estate practice is spent counseling both landlords and tenants on office, industrial, retail and restaurant lease transactions. To that end, Scarborough works with a full array of construction law issues, including drafting and negotiating architectural service agreements, construction contracts and management agreements. More recently, he has assisted clients in the preparation of "green leases" and provided counsel related to the operation and maintenance of "green buildings."

Prior to BoyarMiller, Scarborough served as the leasing counsel for Crescent Real Estate Equities where he was responsible for the leasing of more than 8 million square feet of Class A office and retail space. He holds a J.D. from South Texas College of Law and a B.B.A. from The University of Texas at Austin. In addition, Scarborough is a Director/Officer for the ALS Association - Greater Houston Chapter.

Promoted to Shareholder in BoyarMiller's Litigation Group is Craig Dillard, whose practice includes general commercial litigation, products liability litigation, consumer law disputes, employment litigation and construction litigation. Licensed to practice in Texas and Louisiana, he represents a wide range of clients from high net worth individuals to large corporations in both Federal and State courts.

Dillard holds a J.D. from South Texas College of Law and a B.A. from Indiana State University. He is the founder of Houston Attorney Networking, a local legal industry networking group that has doubled its membership since its inception in 2010.

Also being promoted within the Litigation Group is Edgar Saldivar to Senior Associate. Edgar joined BoyarMiller in late 2010 and his practice focuses on commercial litigation, representing individuals and companies in a variety of business-related disputes including breach of contract and business tort actions, and advising foreign investors doing business in Texas.

Edgar holds a B.A. in Philosophy (cum laude) from Harvard University and a J.D. from University of Houston Law Center. Saldivar is a member of the North American Kant Society, the Society for Phenomenology and Existential Philosophy, and the Harvard Clubs of Boston and New York City. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Hispanic Bar Association of Houston, serves as the Legal Counsel for the local chapter of the National Hispanic Professional Organization (NHPO), and is a member of the Houston Young Lawyers Association Leadership Academy (2011-12).
