J. Douglas Parker Named Executive Director
HOUSTON, Texas (September 1, 2009) — BoyarMiller announced today that J. Douglas Parker, CPSM, has been promoted to the position of Executive Director. Parker brings over 15 years of experience leading business development and marketing departments and managing the day-to-day operations for professional services firms.
Parker joined BoyarMiller in March 2009 as Director of Marketing and Administration. Bill Boyar, Chairman of BoyarMiller, said "in the short time that Doug has been at the firm, he has demonstrated excellent management abilities and organization-building skills and has brought focus and results to our business development and marketing efforts."
"Doug has essentially been functioning in the role of Executive Director since joining the firm and this promotion recognizes his efforts and accomplishments," Boyar added.
Prior to joining BoyarMiller, Parker served as Associate Principal of PGAL, Houston's fifth-largest architecture firm, a position he earned after joining as Marketing Director. He led a team of marketing and business development professionals in nine offices across the U.S.
Parker is active in a variety of professional and philanthropic organizations. He earned his Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) designation from the Society for Marketing Professional Services, and has served the organization as Houston Chapter President. He serves on the Executive Committee of the Urban Land Institute-Houston as well as the DiverseWorks Artspace Board of Directors and the Alumni Board of Houston Baptist University.
A native Houstonian and Eastwood resident, Parker earned bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Communications from Houston Baptist University, where he was awarded Outstanding Student in Communications.
