Sara Waller Wins Blakely Butler Moot Court Competition at the University of Houston Law Center
HOUSTON, Texas (April 5, 2010) — Sara Waller, BoyarMiller Law Clerk an d third-year law student, recently won the annual Blakely Butler Moot Court Competition at the University of Houston Law Center. The case concerned an appeal to the Texas Supreme Court over preservation of evidentiary objections at trial and the deference given to an appraisal for insurance claims.
Waller was awarded "Best Speaker" by the judges for her performance in the final round. Final round Judges included 1st Court of Appeals Chief Justice Sherry Radack, U.S. District Court Judge Lee Rosenthal, and U.S. District Bankruptcy Court Judge Jeff Bohm.
In her critique, Justice Radack complimented the contestants on their thorough preparation and called the students "a beautiful, inspiring group of young people."
