Chairman’s Letter

Friends,

I know you share our pride in all Houstonians and our surrounding area neighbors as we worked together to address a formidable natural disaster. We are resilient and rebuilding, as we also extend a hand to those affected by all of the hurricanes this season. Together, all of us are contributing and providing assistance where we can. We are Houston Strong.

Business Partners

As we mark the final quarter of the year, we are helping clients catch up, plan ahead and strategize to meet their short- and long-term business goals. As trusted business partners, our attorneys are helping clients with all types of transactional and case work – as well as providing ongoing strategic counsel. Year-end planning has been under way and our role is to share insights and experience that will add value to future plans and solidify a path to success.

We believe in sharing information, expertise and perspectives about the current business environment. And our events continue that commitment by bringing together experts who deliver insightful strategies and informed opinions that may impact your business. In our recent BoyarMiller Breakfast Forum on the “Current State of the Capital Markets,” we moderated a discussion between speakers Matt Anstead with EV Private Equity, Ali Nasser with AltruVista and Bill Pyle with Texas Capital Bank. Event photos are now posted, and a summary of the key takeaways will follow shortly.

We appreciate the opportunity to have a positive impact on your business.

Houston Young Lawyers

Our firm enjoys hosting professional and nonprofit organizations in our meeting space on a regular basis. It was a pleasure to host a CLE luncheon for the Houston Young Lawyers Association in September. Robert Arthur and Whitney Brieck presented a program on discovery objections.

Welcome New Associates

Speaking of young lawyers, we welcome two new associates to our firm this month who served as summer associates with us last year. Caleb Dunson graduated from the University of Houston Law Center and Lani Durio just graduated from South Texas College of Law. They are familiar with our culture, the BoyarMiller commitment to client service, and our promise of making a meaningful difference in people’s lives. I hope you will have the opportunity to meet them soon.

Relationships Matter

Together, we are rebuilding—homes, businesses, properties and livelihoods. Our attorneys and staff have been assisting in a number of ways to those who lost so much. Our teams have volunteered at shelters and purchased much-needed supplies for nonprofits including The Ronald McDonald House and SEARCH Homeless Services, among others. And like all Houstonians, we have been helping friends and neighbors. If we can help you, please let us know.

Let me end with a favorite quote that I believe captures the spirit of our firm.

“Our relationships, whether business or personal, are nourished and shaped by the commitment we express through our actions.”

My best,

Chris Hanslik
Chairman
