Lani is an award winning brief writer and national champion advocate who serves a variety of clients, from businesses to individuals, involved in various employment and business related disputes.

Lani Durio joined BoyarMiller’s Litigation Group in 2017 after participating in the firm’s Summer Associate Program the year prior. Lani is an award winning brief writer and national champion advocate who serves a variety of clients, from businesses to individuals, involved in various employment and business related disputes.

Lani attended South Texas College of Law in Houston, where she graduated with highest honors, (Summa Cum Laude) . She received CALI Awards for Academic Excellence in her legal research and writing classes, was the Assistant Editor in Chief and Assistant Note and Comment Editor for the South Texas Law Review, and was a member of Phi Delta Phi legal honor society. In her third year of law school, she was published in the South Texas Law Review.

Lani is also a national champion moot court advocate who participated in South Texas’ varsity advocacy program. Over the course of her six total competitions, Lani received a Best Overall Speaker award and five Best Appellate Brief awards. Two years in a row, in 2017 and again in 2018, the American Society of Legal Writers selected one of Lani’s appellate briefs as the second best moot court brief in the country. As a third year law student, she was selected as a Dean’s Outstanding Advocate, and inducted into the Order of the Barristers, Order of the Scribes, and Order of the Lytae.

Prior to attending law school, Lani attended Clarkson University in upstate, New York, where she graduated with a degree in political science, with distinction. She was a two-year captain on Clarkson’s volleyball team and a two-time NCAA All-American.
