Welcome to Texas Law in Translation

Thousands of UK-based companies are doing business in Texas — as well as in other parts of the United States — and more are crossing the pond each day.

The purpose of this forum is to introduce and invite discussion with respect to legal and related issues that UK companies operating in Texas can expect to face. The primary authors of this blog are attorneys practicing in Texas who frequently deal with UK-based companies. In each posting, we will introduce an issue giving the U.S. perspective.  Whenever possible, we will invite attorneys from the UK as guest editors to add a UK perspective and provide a counterpoint to our "Texas" interpretation.

Whatever the topic — from choosing an entity to do business in the U.S. to protecting confidential information to collecting past due payments from vendors — we hope Texas Law in Translation will be useful and stimulate dialogue among its readership.
