Letter from Our Chairman

Not only is it a new year, it’s a new decade, and a particularly special one for the BoyarMiller family. This year marks three decades of business for the firm.

Thirty years ago Founders Bill Boyar and Gary Miller came together to create a firm that would act as strategic partners to business owners. They launched BoyarMiller with a vision to provide counsel beyond expectations, build lasting relationships and make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

As we begin 2020, we continue to serve this mission. We’re thankful for the clients we’ve helped, the organizations we have been a part of that impact our community, and all that we’ve accomplished along the way. You’ll see us celebrating throughout the year and saying thanks to our employees and clients who have contributed to our success. We’re proud of our strong foundation and excited for what the future holds for our firm.

In addition to celebrating our anniversary, we are proud to announce that Whitney Brieck was elected to become a shareholder in the firm.

An accomplished civil trial and appellate lawyer, Whitney’s clients are involved in the financial, commercial leasing, healthcare, and energy industries, in both state and federal court and in international arbitration.

Recognized by several organizations for her contributions to law, Whitney also dedicates her time to mentoring and connecting with other women to help them succeed. She’s a founding member of BoyarMiller’s networking group that champions strong and talented women professionals called “5 to 9: A Women’s Initiative.”

The shareholder team was thrilled to give Whitney the news while she was on leave at home working her most important case to date – motherhood. Please join us in welcoming and congratulating Whitney on her promotion.

Several of our team members were recognized by Houstonia Magazine as Top Lawyers in Houston this past December. Congratulations to Lauren Black, Whitney Brieck, Christopher Burt, Lyndsay Fincher, Andrew Pearce, Blake Royal and Jill W. Young.

Additionally, Business Group Associate Adebola Akisanya has been recognized by the National Black Lawyers – Top 40 under 40 Houston. Adebola joins a select group of attorneys who are nominated for their outstanding reputation, contributions to the legal profession and for being leaders in their respective practice areas. Congratulations to Adebola for this honor.

On behalf of BoyarMiller, we wish you a prosperous new year.
