Kaylee Gum

Kaylee Gum brings significant courtroom and commercial litigation experience to her role at BoyarMiller. Her practice spans complex commercial disputes, bad faith matters, energy, and trademark cases, and she has advised clients across the energy, insurance, and maritime sectors.

Before entering private practice, Kaylee served on active duty as an Air Force Judge Advocate. She tried more than 30 defense cases as Area Defense Counsel at Minot Air Force Base and 18 prosecutions while leading the Military Justice Division at Davis–Monthan Air Force Base. At Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, she trained and supervised attorneys and paralegals, advised federal investigators on search, seizure, and digital forensics and represented clients in personal civil law matters.

In private practice, Kaylee has represented businesses in trials, arbitrations, and dispositive motion hearings. Her experience includes taking and defending depositions, drafting pleadings and appellate briefs, advising excess insurers as monitoring counsel, and handling subrogation and contractual indemnity disputes.

Kaylee earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from William & Mary Law School, where her note was selected for publication in the Journal of Women and the Law. She was recognized with the Virginia State Bar’s Oliver White Hill Pro Bono Award and named one of National Jurist’s Top 25 Law Students. She holds a B.A., summa cum laude, in Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Oklahoma.

She is admitted to the State Bars of Texas and North Carolina and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Northern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas. Kaylee is active in the Houston Bar Association and Houston Young Lawyers Association. She is proficient in Modern Standard and Levantine Arabic.
