KIPP Texas Public Schools is an open-enrollment, public, tuition-free charter school network of 59 schools with more than 31,000 pre-K-12 students across the state. KIPP Texas Public Schools helps students in underserved communities attain a quality education. BoyarMiller Founding Shareholder Bill Boyar has served as Chair of the KIPP Texas Board of Directors since 2018. For the three years prior, he served as Chair of the KIPP Houston Executive Board of Directors.
“Bill has been a staunch and long-term supporter of KIPP because of our shared belief that all children deserve access to an excellent public education,” shared Sehba Ali, CEO, KIPP Texas Public Schools. “Bill, through his deep involvement with KIPP, has already changed the lives of thousands of students, and we are confident that his impact will be felt for years to come.”
Together with families and communities, KIPP Texas Public Schools creates joyful, academically excellent schools that prepare students to pursue any path they choose – college, career and beyond so they can lead fulfilling lives and build a more just world. KIPP Texas Public Schools worked hard to develop comprehensive COVID-19 protocols this school year while keeping the best interests and health of students and teachers in mind. Initiatives encompass environmental cleaning, social distancing, hygiene education, screening and even education choice to accommodate students. Staff members also complete daily health and wellness surveys as a preventative measure. Their current growth plan, Rise Together, is working to achieve a fundraising goal of $150MM in order to double the number of seats for KIPPsters across Texas and double the number of high school graduates at KIPP Texas. Here’s to KIPP Texas Public Schools for embodying flexibility in a tough year and a commitment to “making it work” for their students.
