Drew Kanaly, Chairman - Kanaly Trust

Drew is Chairman of Kanaly Trust. In addition to his leadership position, he continues to manage the ongoing investment strategies and personal wealth management programs of several family relationships. Drew directs the development and administration of personal and family trust accounts including charitable trust, private charitable foundations, family limited partnerships, revocable living, testamentary, and custodial trusts for minors, IRA and IRA Rollover accounts along with estate administration and any other client-specific financial needs as they arise. He specializes in investment management, charitable trusts, and family limited partnerships. Since earning his BBA in Finance from the University of Houston, Drew has attended the American Bankers Association’s National Graduate Trust School at Northwestern University; the Texas Bankers Association Regional Trust School at Southern Methodist University; and earned a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation. Drew joined Kanaly in 1983 and has 30 years of experience in trust and investments.

Cliff Atherton, PhD, CFA, Managing Director - GulfStar Group

Cliff is an investment banker with more than 25 years of experience in corporate finance and more than 30 years of experience in teaching finance at the graduate level. He joined GulfStar in 1995 and since that time has completed numerous corporate finance assignments for business owners. Most of Cliff's clients are entrepreneurs - and family-owned businesses with enterprise values between $25 and $250 million.  His transaction experience is split evenly between sales to strategic buyers and recapitalizations with private equity firms. Cliff's industry experience includes representation of upstream, midstream and downstream energy service companies and related manufacturing and distribution companies. He has served full-time and part-time on the faculty of Rice University's Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business since 1980 (full-time from 1980 to 1987), where he currently serves as a Professor in the Practice of Entrepreneurship.  Prior to joining GulfStar, Cliff was Managing Director of McKenna & Company (1992 to 1995), the president of Emprise Consulting Group, Inc. (1990 to 1992), and an independent consultant (1978 to 1990).  He was also an Adjunct Professor of Finance at the University of Houston from 1993 to 1997. Cliff earned a Bachelor of Arts from Rice University and PhD and MBA degrees from The University of Texas. He also earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Tom Fish, Executive Managing Director, Co-Head Real Estate Investment Banking - Jones Lang LaSalle

Tom Fish co-leads the Real Estate Investment Banking (REIB) practice which is part of the Jones Lang LaSalle Capital Markets Group. As Executive Managing Director, Tom focuses on national lender relationships, high profile loan originations and debt restructurings for owner and lender clients. Mr. Fish has specifically advised clients on more than $8 billion of debt/equity origination and/or product disposition over the past ten years. The REIB practice incorporates debt/equity origination, investment sales, loan/note sales, advisory services, loan workouts & modification and asset resolution services. Mr. Fish and the REIB practice’s focus is on the sourcing of capital for acquirers and owners of real estate and keeping existing owner and lender clients apprised of the ever-changing capital markets.
