“Right now, there is a lot of private equity investment in the energy sector fueling mergers, acquisitions and corporate financing,” said Chris Hanslik, chairman of Houston-based law firm BoyarMiller. “If the energy sector, which we know is a key driver of our regional economy, was impacted negatively, then there would be a ripple effect on the flow of deals and investments and the resulting legal work.
