Houston Chronicle: Scottish American Business Alliance discusses British, Scottish expansions into Houston

Gus J. Bourgeois, one of the founding members of the Scottish American Business Alliance (SABA) was quoted in this Houston Chronicle article:

“We had been meeting here in Houston with companies that were thinking about relocating here, or thinking about buying a business here.  In some cases they were already operating here, but had just started and were feeling their way.  We were making introductions through our network for those companies, and the thought was, if we can overcome their objections and talk to them about their risks here, that there have to be plenty of companies in Scotland having the same thoughts, and considering the same risks, so let’s go there and try to meet some of those companies and do it in Scotland.”

Bourgeois said that an additional purpose of the visit was to meet with other like-minded service professionals that SABA could connect with for future needs, and to connect with civic leaders and civic groups.  The hope is that when these groups come across business that are thinking about acquiring a business in Houston, or expanding or relocating here, that SABA would be top of mind to them.
