BoyarMiller Shareholder Hilary Tyson Receives Texas Access to Justice Award

HOUSTON (June 14, 2022) – We are proud to announce that BoyarMiller Shareholder Hilary Tyson received the 2022 Texas Access to Justice Commission’s Corporate Counsel Pro Bono Award.

The award is given in association with the Corporate Counsel Section of the State Bar of Texas to an outstanding corporate counsel attorney who actively provides pro bono legal services for the poor and promotes pro bono culture within the corporate framework.

Since 2021, Tyson has worked in collaboration with Lone Star Legal Aid to help preserve and protect home values and residential community character of the Houston/Trinity Gardens neighborhood, a historically under-served community, by creating and implementing deed restrictions.

Supreme Court of Texas Justice Brett Busby presented the award to Tyson during the State Bar’s annual meeting in Houston.

The Texas Access to Justice Commission (texasatj.org) created by the Supreme Court of Texas in 2001, is charged with developing and implementing initiatives designed to expand access to, and enhance the quality of, justice in civil legal matters for low-income Texans.
