Attorney Shay Johanson Joins BoyarMiller’s Growing Ranks, as Houston Business Expands

Previously, Johanson was a principal at an independent Houston-based law firm. He has extensive experience as in-house counsel and acted as general counsel for multiple oilfield services companies. He has represented clients in the energy and technology industries and in cross-border transactions.
“Clients and practitioners find opportunity in our mid-sized firm and our ability to execute large-scale acquisitions. Shay impressed us with his years of experience in the energy industry including various multimillion-dollar deals. Shay’s creative business strategies and in-house legal experience enable him to offer practical business and legal solutions to clients,” said Chris Hanslik, BoyarMiller chairman. “He has been an owner and executive officer of various businesses. Coupled with his legal skills, he provides clients with strong, experienced counsel to help them advance their goals. In addition, I have known Shay on a personal level for almost 20 years, and I knew immediately that he would fit well in our firm’s culture.”
Johanson’s practice is focused on transactions including mergers and acquisitions, financing, corporate governance, general contracts, and more.
“My experience and passion for helping clients achieve their business goals is a perfect fit with BoyarMiller,” said Johanson. “We share a client service philosophy that is marked by honest communications and being a strategic partner. That is the best way to achieve exceptional outcomes.”
Johanson earned his JD from South Texas College of Law and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas.
