HOUSTON (May 21, 2018) – Texas Global Business Network Hosts Welsh Government Delegation at OTC 2018; Shareholder Gus Bourgeois Works to Expand Business beyond U.S. Borders.
As the largest oil and gas conference in the world, the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) is an excellent venue in which to expand awareness of the pro-business environment in Texas and interest in expanding business opportunities across global boundaries.
BoyarMiller Shareholder Gus Bourgeois is the founder of the Texas Global Business Network (TGBN), a networking group of seasoned professionals who have experience assisting international businesses in doing business in the U.S. (particularly Texas).
“Members of TGBN met with Jon Walters, the Deputy Head of North America for the Welsh Government, during OTC this year,” said Bourgeois. “We made great strides in discussing opportunities for trade and investment between the U.S. and Wales. We know the Welsh government supports industrial and technological innovation and energy initiatives, and Houston shares those interests as well.”
Last year, Bourgeois and other members of TGBN visited Europe to meet business leaders from London, Aberdeen, Amsterdam, and Frankfurt. “One of our members also visited South Korea last year to explore opportunities in helping companies enter the U.S. market,” said Bourgeois. “That visit may have been well-timed given the state of emerging peace in the region.”
Bourgeois said that BoyarMiller’s energy practice includes all types of oil and gas matters, including extensive work for overseas-based companies. The firm recently hosted its annual Energy Forum attended by more than 100 energy stakeholders who heard a panel of three experts share their outlook for the oil and gas industry and renewable energy sources.
BoyarMiller is a 28-year-old Houston-based law firm comprised of two practice groups: business and litigation. The business group serves multinational companies, middle-market businesses and entrepreneurs in need of collaborative and strategic representation. The litigation group represents organizations of all sizes, from entrepreneurs to Fortune 500 companies, seeking to resolve complex business issues and employment disputes.
