Dear Friends,

As BoyarMiller celebrates thirty years in business in July, I reflect on the mission and core values the firm continues to operate under today. Our firm’s core values emphasize “highest integrity in all dealings” and support “an atmosphere of mutual respect, support and authentic communication.”

BoyarMiller is committed to respecting all individuals, regardless of race, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation and ability. In light of recent injustices, BoyarMiller understands that change is necessary, and we want to be a part of the solution.

In alignment with our mission, we support initiatives that encourage diversity and inclusion because we believe in the deep value that different perspectives bring to both our business and personal lives. We work to further support our community through partners such as KIPP Texas Public Schools, SEARCH Homeless Services, DePelchin Children’s Center and Camp For All, whose missions all help advance diversity and inclusion in the Houston community.

As we’re in the business of justice and truth, we know there’s more work to be done.

We look forward to engaging in authentic communications about cultural awareness and racial compassion with our team and partners. Internally, we’ll be discussing recent injustices and diversity to learn from and grow with each other. Most importantly, we’ll be listening to different points of view, learning how others’ experiences differ from our own and executing on solutions that we as members of this community can provide.

Lastly, I was encouraged and proud of the way our city leaders and citizens engaged in peaceful protest in support of George Floyd. I want to encourage honest conversations about how BoyarMiller can further support the advancement of diversity in the Houston community, and I invite you to collaborate with me on ideas and suggestions.
